The atmosphere was set by using  a fairy tale like beginning which is ” there was a “.It also has a little bit of metaphors in there because it says a factory manifactures sadness. It also has a fictional vibe to it because Rashid Khalifas storys are usually fake or at least fairy tail that we all will know. In addition it also has personification in it because in the story it says “the sadness crept in through their window.” Even though sadness can’t creep he uses this as personification. He also uses adjectives such as sad,golden etc to express how good or bad things are or even just to over exaggerate.
